Heron Valley

Phoenicia United Methodist Church, 29 Church St., Phoenicia, NY 12464

HERON VALLEY is an energy-fueled, traditional band from Scotland. Inspired by their previous three tours of the USA, their sound has been shaped afresh by the people they’ve met and the beautiful lands they’ve experienced. Their roots lie in Scottish and Irish traditional music, incorporating traditional Scottish piping tunes and Irish banjo. The five-piece group is Abigail Pryde on fiddle and vocals, Keith Morrison on keys, Nick Hamilton on banjo and guitar, Alastair Maclean on bagpipes and whistles, and Callum Cronin on bass and guitar.

Heron Valley’s evolution as a folk band started after they’d first polished their craft as a young ceilidh dance band. In 2015, the band released their first single/music video “Pressed for Time.” Their debut racked up 85K views, with worldwide sales of their single. In 2018 they officially took the name Heron Valley when they embarked on their first tour of the USA. One year later, they released their second single/video “Home.” Building on that success, the band set off to tour the USA and the EU. They continued to release more music, including their debut album Roam, the single “Take You There,” the single “Springburn, just shy of Ireland,” and their EP Erie Storm.
