Originally from Davis, California, singer/songwriter KORA FEDER has performed on stages across the world – only fitting for a woman with a Global Studies degree – from a special on Thai PBS in Bangkok, to town halls in Canada, and in northern California’s Strawberry Music Festival. There, Feder’s solo set was described as “brilliant and life-changing” by veteran music maker Joe Craven. In 2020, NPR’s All Songs Considered featured Feder’s Tiny Desk entry video, saying “Feder’s lyrics eloquently illustrate the full range of emotions many people are feeling in the era of the coronavirus pandemic.” Shortly afterward, her piece was referenced by the Washington Post in an article exploring the ways the pandemic has aged us all. Her album In Sevens spent four months on the US Folk Radio charts, and its Von Trapp-inspired single “I’d Be a Maria” has surpassed a million streams on Spotify.

In other media, Feder wrote and played for the podcast American Wasteland, musicalized an ad for El Cambio Trading Company, and spent a year as lead producer of From Day One, a podcast exploring the stories of Brooklyn-based entrepreneurs. This year Feder began working on a new record and resumed booking tour dates. She’s now based in Detroit, MI
